You're a writer

And you need a website?

Relax. You're in good hands.

It's a tough life being a writer.

To you, perhaps there is little more precious than words. Your words, to be precise.

So you'll make sure – and we'll make sure – that the words on your website are right.

We know you're poor. (The dozen rich writers in the world already have websites. Or they don't need one.) So we'll give you a great website that honours your work, presents it well, and keeps up the illusion of you as the great writer that every one wants to hear at the next literary festival.

Did we say 'give'?

That's right. If you are a full time or aspiring writer who earns less than the dole then fess up to it and we'll build you a nice little website for free. (We'll remove this offer if we're overwhelmed!)

Of course, if you're a professional who's making at least the pretence of a living from your writing then we'll expect some payment.

But it would be our pleasure to help.

Take the plunge and contact us today.

After you've had time to mop your fevered brow, of course.

flying books

woman puts finger to lips shhWhy do we like writers so much? Our principal consultant, Peter, the founder of Web Help Australia, is a writer. After publishing his first novel in the early nineties he spent the rest of the decade writing a 7000 page hypertext. Most of it eventually got onto the web. After a million readers, he gave up counting. What did he earn for his labour? Six hundred US dollars. So his wife suggested he turn his hand to websites for other people. This led to a decade as a web developer. Now Peter writes poetry online, and occasionally gets published in magazines. He plans one day to publish his poems in traditional book form. (If by then we still print books.) So rest assured, there's one person here at Web Help Australia who might know where you're coming from. Contact us soon and ask for Peter. He'd love to hear your story. And read it, too.

In the meantime...

Use Amazon for all it's worth

Did you know on Amazon Author Central you can create an author's page, link your author's page to your blog or twitter feed, upload a video (of you reading from your amazing book or similar), create an FAQ, and use all the other tools Amazon uses to market your book?

And you can self publish your book/ebook at Amazon-owned: createspace.com

If you need any help with this, just ask Peter. He's already half a step ahead. That's all you need in this fast moving game.
